Lexus is back (if they ever left in the first place)

Saw one of these in person the other day, damn.......the pictures do it no justice, looks completely different in person if that makes any sense. Initially I wasn't overly impressed by pics, seeing it in person made it all come together though.The RCF is impressive.

1) First, this is a HUUUGE coupe, don't be fooled. shyt is massive, now I know why it weighs 4000 pounds. Long, wide and just solid. Car already does solid numbers, dropping a couple hundred pounds will help improve that on its own.

2) 467 Horses on a raw untouched V8...(might not seem like a lot, however, when Lexus decides to tinker with it for the coming year models..look out)

3) You get the bulletproof nature of Lexus, chances are high this is only seeing the shop for an oil change (unlike other top luxury brands). Combine it with the comfort and plush interior and you can play Bruce Wayne or Batman depending on the mood you're in or the situation at hand. I will bet this drives like a GS sedan when you're just cruising, smooth.

4) Lexus dominated the 2000's (2000 to 2011) when it came to luxury sales (11 year streak). They lost that spot in 2012. 2014 numbers are pointing towards them regaining it, because of their refreshed line up. Pretty impressive for a company that just had their 25th anniversary.

5) F Lineup..monsters out of Japan. They are now getting serious with the F line. GS F is coming out next year, with a rumoured 500 + HP..there are also talks of an LS F.

everything about it seems A1, everything except that dated shytty looking center console dash. looks like they pulled it out from a first gen "SC"

but then again Lexus never had a good center dash (aesthetically) and that maze gated shifter in some models are just plain

not like it means much to me cause I wouldn't cop even if I was in the market, but for the sake of the thread and conversation... there it is.

Solid car..these are known to go over 300K miles with ZERO issues other than regular wear, talk about bulletproof.

Yeah, my father has one (probably will be mine when he moves to a new car). It still goes too; press the Power mode and it really gets serious.

I just hate the front. It looks too plain. The mid to rear are all great, and a new paint job would make it pop.

The RCF's center console is a little squished, I agree.

However, the interiors on the GS and LS are at the top of their respective classes IMO. These are the definition of aesthetic.

So it looked cool in these pictures, but then I watched this video and it legit gets uglier every time they show it. I like Lexus' current design language, but this is the worst possible interpretation of it. It looks ugly from every angle. Ungainly. Way too many lines everywhere, messy, fat, weird. It looks like a cheaper Genesis Coupe and that has issues of looking a messy as is. That engine sounds great, but Lexus fukked this one up.

it's different looking, I will say that. but I think the reason it looks like complete shyt in that video is because it's sitting next to an M4 the whole time.

by comparison the M4 is more aesthetically pleasing.

I'm kinda neutral on it to be honest. I don't love it, nor do I hate it.

I'd probably hate it if I had one here in NJ and by law had to strap a front license plate to it and throw off it's whole style.

that's one thing I hate about cars in NJ, that and no tints on the front windows. (some of us still do it though.)
