Never sell yourself short. Always see yourself as superior, alpha, powerful. ALways think higher. Always think you deserve better, you can do better, you can reach higher. With that attitude, you are less likely to fail in life, relationships, finances. You can have 1 dollar to your name, but you'd feel like the richest man in the world. Even your manager/employer/business partners/family etc will respect you much more and less likely to let you go if need be. People look at you the way you look at yourself.

The reason is people loves positivism and embraces positive people. They like being around you because you brighten their day and they feel a thing or two can be learned from you.
