This is maybe my favorite era jay in terms of lyricism. He was spitting that hard shyt mixed with emotion and philosophy.

The intro
Streets is talking
This can't be life
Stick to the script
Soon you'll understand
Squeeze first
Where have you been

I always felt beans stole this album but just cause I fx with jay more and he he has a more human voice, I always related to the jay shyt more even though beans went in harder on some mc shyt. Honestly, there are lyrics jay spits on here that bring a tear to ya eye.

The production is subpar that's why they don't hold this album up with his best and its feature heavy.

I wish this was just a jay album with few features and better production. What songs did he record from this era that didn't make the album.

Dynasty Intro still the greatest intro to an album period!:banderas:

The theme song to (The Sopranos)
plays in the key of life on my, mental piano
Got a strange way of seein life like
I'm Stevie Wonder with, beads under the doo-rag
Intuition is there even when my vision's impaired, yeah
Knowin I can go, just switchin a spare

Watch it my nikkaz, I'm tryin to be calm but I'm gon' get richer
through any means, with that thing that Malcolm palmed in the picture
Never read the Qu'ran or Islamic scriptures
Only psalms I read was on the arms of my nikkaz
Tattooed so I carry on like I'm non-religious

Clap whoever stand between Shawn and figures
nikkaz, say it's the dawn/Don but I'm superstitious :wow:

Still haven't forgiven Hoschino, Advil, Homillio Never-had-a-spark, the Young Gunz & Beanie Struggle aka Billy Seagull aka Beanie Wack aka Beanie Hack aka the Badussy Street Bully for ruining Hov's GOATly performance with their god awfulness

Album goes from classic when the GOAT our Flow Lord and Lyrical Savior Hova Da Gawd spitting to a D list Rocafella weed carrier dumpster fire when the rest of them useless leeches was tryna rap

Yeah but Jay was continually getting washed by Beans on just about every track they were on together.
This LP was a Beanie Sigel highlight reel.

Beans murked Jay on:
Change the Game
You Me, Him, Her, (Meek did his thing too imo )
The R.O.C
This Can't Be Life (Scarface washed both of them without trying)
Streets is Talking

Stick to the Script.

That Bill Cosby's son reference was cold on the intro.
Ennis Cosby son was murdered on5he side of a road changing a spare tire.
The continuation of the highway of life metaphor.
