Watched my blu ray when Bob Hoskins passed and I still love the flick but I guess I need some older heads or cats with a more refined taste than mine or no nostalgia to it to explain to me why the movie has/had such a bad reputation. It's one of a couple flicks I love that have a bad rep and I consider myself pretty good at seeing why a film works or doesn't work and for the life of me, I can't figure this one out. It's got a great performance by the aforementioned Hoskins, Robin Williams is pitch perfect as a grown up kid, the story is interesting if not typical Spielberg, and Dustin Hoffman is the definitive Captain Hook in my opinion. Every line he says, every action he does on screen is perfect and adds to the character.
Is my vision clouded by seeing the flick as a 6 year old during christmas time or is it a good flick that everyone else is wrong about?
