- the mention of the rock loss and other stars losing the "big" one

- calling out lesnar's greed for for money

- the hbk and taker shout outs for the industry

- the "need" to win

- got crowd behind cena by end of it

Great thread!! TSC is raising their game once again!

IMHO, 2 things make this promo important and compelling. First, Edge understands their characters. Seconds, and most important, Edge uses continuity to get the promo over.

No one gives a shzt if it's Shawn Michaels saying the same thing...the fact that Edge "hates" Cena, yet respects him as a competitor, is what makes his promo sound truthful. He referenced their rivalry several times to highlight the importance of their relationship as well as his words. And the fact that he juxtaposes their rivalry with Bret Hart and Andre the Giant is brilliant.

Continuity lends Edge's words with a great deal of significance and credibility.

And let's be real, Edge upped his promo game as he got older. He sounds genuine as hell.

When Cena puts his head down and does the fake clapping...its probably his way of dealing with getting outpopped and looking secondary in the ring yet again.

Great work by both men. Edge delivered it but Cena sold it like a champ. For a brief moment I was rooting for Cena. Then I slapped the Lil Jimmy out of me and came back to reality.
