Va tech played in the orange bowl last year and lost 421k and that was after the acc kicked in like 1
The aq spot is basically to get like 22 mill and split amongst the conference teams first to each bowl bound team then to the teams not going to a bowl but the travel allotment takes up basically all that money.
Having to sell those allotment of tickets is hard as hell, the bowls also contract hotels at ridiculous costs sometimes like 150 rooms for 300 bucks a night and the university has to pay that
You actually make more money playing in a crappy bowl as te city is smaller hotel rooms cheaper and allotment of tickets to sell vastly smaller than plying in a big ass stadium

Georgia Tech (0–1) @Rekkapryde ....lost to fukkin Iowa
Maryland (0–1) @mastermind lost to UF; shyt shouldn't even count as a win for the SEC since they all fail to acknowledge that Utah beatdown or UGA beating up on Hawaii
Wake Forest (0–1) @theydontevenhavefans....lost to Louisville but that was maybe one of the worst seasons (outside of this one) in ACC history

in 98 we had our 3rd stringer starting
in 02 we had Anquan Boldin playing QB for us
