l remember reading walking dead back in 2007 when my comic book store and good friend recommended it to me (me and him were students together), i read the first 25 or 30 issues i cant remember.

Recently i watched the tv series in a single day, all these women at my job would be like "fukk shane, i hate him, he sucks, ugh" so i finally checked it out.

first and foremost i need to get this out of the way, this nikka was lookin just like :steviej: inside that CDC building, i mean seriously, that nikka was CREEPIN.

in reality when i look at shane i see someone who was decisive and grew tired of Ricks inability to make a conscious decision. when they took that kid prisoner he dragged on and on and in reality, rick should have fukking killed him in the first place. i mean they tried to kill his ass, fukk all that, i wouldnt have even thought about bringing him back.

Shane was a survivor, and what he did to otis wasnt right but at the same time, Carl dies if he doesnt do it, he coulda shot that nikka in the head though and it was otis fault the kid was shot in the first place, or if you really wanna get jiggy, it was Ricks fault for having him approach a fukking deer in the first place standing there.

Shane or Rick had to go though, you gotta wonder what would happen if Shane lived long enough to see the governer what he would do.

i dont see shane as bad as some nikkas do but goddamn that nikka was creepin in the CDC.

Shane was cool with me until the attempted rape, that's when I knew it was gonna be all down hill from here, slowly but surely (I still fukked with him but I knew it was a matter of time...)

...then the 2nd half of the 2nd season he completely lost it

Dude was a soldier, no doubt, but too mentally unstable

That's Lori's fault...

It was clear by the end that Lori was more into Shane than Rick, regardless.
that ole hot twat ass smut...she gave Shane the ass like what, a week or two after she thought Rick died...bytch didn't even mourn my nikka... [killer mike's] that is sacrilege [/grandma]

I think it's clear Shane just wanted Lori, and all these other 'reasons' were just excuses

Shane could have been a strong leader if he wasn't so weak for Lori. The way he handled the barn was a prime example of him at his best.

shane was untrustworthy and would be abusing his power whenever he wanted something. once his behavior would have become known, he probably would have had to have been merked by the group anyway. it was only a matter of time. he's a gaddafi type leader.

rick was better by default because he means well no matter what. however, he is not of above average intelligence, so he really just has the group lurching from position to position with little advancement in knowledge or resources. they only advance in personal knowledge that comes from being a desperate zombie fighter, but outside of that, they are terribly weak due to his leadership. if he had the foresight and organizational skills of the governor, coupled with his morals, he would be perfect. he's now so psychologically broken that it looks like his son needs to take over as soon as possible, with old one legged guy as the interim leader.

One of the best characters on the show. Shane should have just left the group and went out on his own. Rick was trying to be the good guy all the time( in season 2 ), screw that. Shane was a real goon but I will admit that he was crazy.

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
Yeah, it's too bad they couldn't find a way to make it work and keep him around. I thought he was a great character played by a great actor. But cause of the Lori thing and the child possibility and everything, there was just no way they could have Shane and Rick in the same group much longer. It's not like he could ever join up with the Governor and play nice either, Shane just wasn't ment to be. If Rick never came back though, Shane woulda been :smoker:

The sad thing is it did seem like Lori was more interested in Shane towards the end. She had that whole speech with Shane by the tower appologizing and begging for forgiveness and then the look she gave when Rick told her... you could tell, she was with Rick cause it was the right thing to do but deep down she did love Shane.

The progression of Shane's character really changed after he kinda saw the light and killed Otis to survive and save Carl. Shane could have done what Rick would have done and refused to live and they'd both be dead, but instead he did what he had to do. He was never the same after that.

And yet he froze when it came time to put down Sophia.
:mjpls:
I had sympathy for Shane and kind of understood where he was coming from, though.
His lust for Lori definitely fueled him, but he did get things done.
At the same time, I don't see him being the leader Rick became.
If Lori were to die (which she did ) he wouldn't give a damn about keeping that group together.
Rick's greatest weakness and strength was his empathy & his concern for the group at large.
He hadn't completely lost his humanity in his pursuit of that end.
Shane on the other hand, only acted in the interest of Lori & Carl. What happens to that group with Shane in charge if they die?
