SINY!!
They threw people for a loop. Personally, I'm enjoying it and its getting better with each listen for me. I can understand why people are dissapointed with it. Hype is a bytch....

It's just not what their fans were expecting. Looking at my Facebook timeline (which includes a lot of Bay Area ravers) this album has huge cultural significance. I've never seen such long discussions on an album a week before it came out, I was like "Do these people got the Big Business hook-up too?" :dwillhuh:

It's kind of like, if Tupac were to preach Thug Life to us and then come out with an album about being one with nature. It's okay to exhibit artistry but you can't sell your fans something that they never become fans of

Daft Punk have always done this tho. Discovery was a total curveball to fans like myself that were expecting squelchy robotic acid house and instead got a bunch of filtered glam disco house. You've just gotta judge the album on its own merits, not on expectations.

It's dope. It's not better than Homework or Discovery, but I can rock with it. It's more like disco, rock, funk with electronic roots.

Them Pharrell features :ohlawd:

I can't believe they're still putting out records.

I saw daft punk perform live in 1996. Haven't paid much attention to them in years, then questlove (and others) was tweeting about the new album.
