Now check it. I've been using my Galaxy Note 2 for the better of two weeks and I must admit, im impressed. Great phone, very powerful, can do alot. Truly an excellent phone. I admit the S Pen functionality is nice and handy, and the screen is big and beautiful. Playing tekken 3 on my handheld device is truly an amazing feeling brehs..
But alas I simply can't crown this the GOAT phone because ANDROID IS CRAP!
This shyt still crashes all the fukking time, and can be frustrating as fukk. Hell, my phone will crash occasionally when streaming video, lock up when loading an app, and occasionally go dark at random moments. Like when taking on the phone, the proximity sensor goes haywire! How many of ya'll have had your screen go dark when holding the phone away from you face?
It makes number entry during a phone call nearly impossible!
Bluetooth is still wonky as shyt, especially when used in the car!
And what the hell is up with these widgets? Half of them dont work well at all. Constantly freezing when hitting buttons, and even causing random app crashes and shyt.
Contrast this with Windows Phone 8 which hardly every crashes or locks up. The overall experience is just SOO MUCH MORE SEAMLESS. Live tiles make arduous tasks like checking my stocks, checking facebook, and loading up navigation maps relatively painless. I realized this when using my phone while driving. With windows phone, you can literally operate the device with your eyes closed once your comfortable with it. Annoying things like hunting for your favorite app in a sea of icons is much less annoying on Windows because you have Big live tiles to hit to launch apps, or you simply swipe once to the left to get to an alphabatized list of apps that you can quick search by the first letter in the app's name. Its literally amazing. I can literally drive one handed, pick up my phone, searh for and launch an app with literally a half a second glance. Doing this same thing would far more tedious and infinitely more dangerous on Android due to the excessive swiping needed to navigate the fukking homescreen.
Another amazing feature of the Windows Phone is the HARDWARE CAMERA BUTTON. I don't know why people overlook this. It makes using your phone's camera brainless, as you can launch your camera app instantly by depressing the button, even when the phone is off. Plus you can hand the phone to strangers, and they instantly know how to operate it because its orientation is that of a classic point and shoot camera. Plus it encourages more use of landscape mode. Why folks hate on this is beyond me. I think it genius. Furthermore with another camera update just released today for the Lumia 920, the cell phone futher improves the camera image quality.
Lastly, LIVE TILES. I can't stress how awesome these things are. You literally have to experience them to believe it. There is a reason Apple is going to shamelessly copy this feature for their already obsolete IOS 7.
Nothing is more elegant than simply glancing at your phone and getting the gist on facebook updates, text messages, stock tickers, news headlines, and funny pics posted by yourself and your friends in an instant. Many feel its too busy for the average user, i personally think its brilliant. Makes my phone far more efficient to use.
In a nutshell, Windows Phone is beastly. Give it a shot. Buy a cheap one and just keep it as a second phone. Trust me, you wont regret it.
