There was nothing better than getting that goomba's shoe for the first time.
That shoe made you unmesswithable
Walking on munchers
Stomping out spinies

The only bad thing is that the game took it away after just that one level.

When Nintendo remade Mario 3 on the GBA, they actually brought the shoe back for a couple of the eReader levels.
That shoe was the GOAT powerup.

When me and my little brother first got to world 4 and it was a giant world we was like:

What makes it even better is like it’s award for getting your ass kicked throughout world 3.

no one has ever believed me but i once as a kid copped the hammer bros suit in world 5, second part in the clouds. mushroom house. BEFORE world 6.
