Continuing where the first thread left off. This feud was the epitome of what the Aggression Era was about. Everything about this feud was memorable. The morale of the story was Taker looking like a old vet trying to protect his "yard" from the new dominant lion who's trying to take him out of the game for good. It further caught personal when Heyman involved Taker's personal life into it and thats when things got real
Lesnar breaking Taker's hand and then Taker screaming in pain had me
because Ive never seen Taker get truly dominated like this. Lesnar was a different beast. He was younger, athletic, arrogant and with Heyman on his side more crafty. I was rooting for the OG but when Lesnar was bringing the beats to that dude I was
Then who could forget that infamous face to face interview? Man you could feel the intensity
People had their doubts about this match because Taker was older, Lesnar was still green and inexperienced. Both of them weren't high flyers so there weren't gonna be no HBK acrobatics nor were they crazy enough to take bumps off the cage like Foley so like many(Me included)were anticipating a dissapointing match.
Soon as the bell rang, It was like witnessing World War IV, Taker literally gave that boy Lesnar that work and took the rookie to the wood shed.
After 10-12 minutes of punishment Lesnar came back in a animalistic fashion and head busted the O.G. with the steps to where he was leaking on the side of his head. Heyman's screaming and cheerleading for Lesnar also added humor to the matchup as well.
This match was straight up carnage from begining to end and this gave Lesnar those stripes that he needed to become a contender at the time. Taker and Lesnar literally dished everything they had in that match. Both came out looking strong with the rookie humbling himself in the later months to the O.G. and Taker giving respects back.
One of the bloodiest matches of all time.
