What in the motherfukk is this shyt and how long has it been in exsistence?

I used to work for the federal government and still receive some of the group emails they send out, i got this one this morning:

"Subject: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month

We celebrate Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month each June to commemorate the beginning of the modern LGBT movement. June marks the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan, a spontaneous protest following a police raid on the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar. Patrons and supporters of the Inn staged an uprising to resist police harassment and persecution. This uprising was the catalyst for a grassroots movement to oppose discriminatory laws and practices against LGBT Americans.

In June 2000, the President declared the month of June, "Gay and Lesbian Pride Month." In 2009, the month became “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month.” LGBT Pride Month commemorates the beginning of the organized LGBT movement and celebrates the movement’s efforts to achieve equal justice and opportunity for all Americans, not just LGBT Americans."

What are your thoughts on this?

Mine, Any credibility Black history month once had (not much to begin with) is gone. It basically says the federal government and the people view the human struggle of a race through the same lense as a struggle for a deviant sexual one.....

After receiving and reading the email i decided to google "the stonewall riots" referrenced in it............

Stonewall riots - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reading it gives you some perspective on just how much things have changed in the attitude of "policing" in this country........

these muthafukkas basically staged a stone cold riot against the police and not one shot was fired......

these days, something like that would not only be deemed an act of terrorism (which would likely lead to an indefinite detention of the people involved) but would have been a blood bath from the number of people the police had shot.
