The subject of PEDs is something we glaze over like we not really to find out if it's true or not and the sport is just entertainment.
The money at stake here in the NBA makes it more than likely if someone could figure out how to get physical advantages they would. I've even been wondering if at the high school level now kids are being given stuff to make them grow taller or athletic. The amount of kids who getting heart issues all of a sudden..
So taking the names out. What are the side effects or things that can make you say this man might be on something, hair loss? Jaw? Heart issues?
The problem is most people think PEDs start and ends with Roids. Which really isn't the case. It's just a lazy generalisation as is like Athlete A has never failed a piss test he must be clean.
Special shakes/drink cocktails concocted by doctors/trainers is an old school classic. Many athletes didn't even know they were doping. Some knew/guessed but turned a blind eye/didnt say thing. Most likely Amphetamines which was used in WWII to keep the soldiers alert and fighting. Then once the War was over and they had all these leftovers guess where they ended up in the sports world.
Take something like EPO. That has a very short half life and is out of your system within 24-72 hours depending on dosage. (Some Steroids can last in your system up to 18 months) As per Lance Armstrong he never failed a in-competition piss test because the dosage he was taking had a 4.5 hour half life. So by the time he would cross the finish line it would of left his system.
And let's not forget that Nike were basically sponsoring a doping programme in the Oregon Project.
