They NEED LeBron right now more than any other team has needed a player in probably 20 years. They're scared of what happens of he doesn't get total control.

LeGM gets to run the show because of his impact on Gilbert's bottom line. When your team is worth a few hundred million more because of one player, you let him do what he do. It's mainly because their situations aren't comparable. You can't even compare LeBron's situation now with his Miami tenure, LeBron didn't have this kind of power in Miami and it's because of several reasons: Miami had a pretty successful history before he joined, Wade was more of the leader since he was older and was there from the start, and Riley wasn't (and still isn't) a pushover.
