You are 100% correct, the only thing I would add is the Hispanic community is very divided on things like color and class. The white identifying, well-off Latinos will continue to have an epic come up and integration into White society. In places like the west and Texas even the working/middle class brown ones are heading there too and have local economies. The rest, a large percentage, and especially recent arrivals may get some heat. But the previous categories will let them take it as their form of respectability politics. @The Burger King talked about this in detail in a post.
