i had a similar thing happen to me. friend stabbed me in the eye with a pencil fukkin around while we were reading in elementary school. He was pronouncing words stupidly and swinging his hands wildly in the air with his pencil in his hand and it jabbed me right in the eye. I had to wear a patch for a while. if i blinked hard enough, the pencil would've broke off inside my eye 
luckily only hit my cornea. That cac never really outright apologized and i couldn't tell if he was way too drowned with guilt, or just really didn't give a fukk enough
