The Toronto Raptors and Minnesota Timberwolves have both recently tried to engage the Lakers in trade discussions for Gasol, sources told ESPN.com, but the Lakers continue to tell teams that call that they will not consider dealing the Spaniard until L.A. can fully assess its roster after the return of injured point guard Steve Nash.

Trade speculation involving Gasol nonetheless shows little sign of abating, even as the 32-year-old is being held out of the lineup to combat a worsening bout of knee tendinitis. Gasol has not been shelved because a deal is imminent, sources told ESPNLosAngeles.com Tuesday, but Kupchak has advised Gasol's representatives that the Lakers will have no choice but to start exploring a trade if the former All-Star is unable to eventually adjust to D'Antoni's system.

D'Antoni took the job Nov. 11, knowing he wouldn't have the benefit of training camp, when the Lakers made the third-fastest coaching change in NBA history by firing Mike Brown five games into the season.

Stretch power forward Andrea Bargnani, veteran point guard Jose Calderon and fellow vet Linas Kleiza are among the players, sources say, whom the Raptors have discussed making available to the Lakers in a deal for Gasol. It's an open secret around the league, meanwhile, that Timberwolves general manager David Kahn has been trying since last season to acquire Gasol to join fellow Spaniard Ricky Rubio in a three-man core with All-Star forward Kevin Love, but sources say the Lakers continue to resist Minnesota's attempts to build a trade offer around 2011's No. 2 overall pick Derrick Williams and center Nikola Pekovic.

CBSSports.com reported Wednesday that there's a growing belief among rival executives that Toronto has emerged as the most likely landing spot for Gasol, given Bargnani's potential as a floor-spacing frontcourt partner to Dwight Howard and the boost Calderon couldgive a thin backcourt. Nash has only played a game and a half this season thanks to the 38-year-old's fractured fibula, and Steve Blake will miss the next six to eight weeks after abdominal surgery.

I wouldnt even entertain Toronto, unless they come off one of them nigguhs(Derozan or Ross)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But Gasol aint going nowhere. PPl dont realize it but Gasol being in La was the key to signingNash. He only came to LA if Gasol was staying. Without Gasol, Nash wouldve signed to NY

Lakers won't do any trades until

A) Nash comes back

B) When some of their players are available to be traded which would be December 15th

Colangelo feeling the heat

That would actually be a good trade for the lakers

Calderon is a expiring deal and would be the best healthy pg you guys have, bargs would flourish in d'antoni system and kleiza is better than Antwan Jamison and the other bench bums you have plus I'm sure the lakers would have thrown in Chris Dijon and ebanks or whatever trash you guys have

Uh, Jamison is way better than Kleiza. I watch both reguarly and Jamison can actually shoot, cut and rebound. He's flourishing with D'Antoni. No one wants the Raptors garbage. :pacspit:

Bargnani and Calderon is actually a good deal IMO. With that being said, I think patience is needed. Outside of his 3 point shooting, Bargnani's offense is no where near Gasol's. Kobe is not going to be there more than another 3 years. I don't think the Lakers are that bad, they just need patience to put the pieces together and time to play together. This sh*t ain't a video game

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Bargnani is not a number 1 option, as the 3rd or 4th best player on the Lakers though he'd be tough to deal with and give the Lakers the ability to go small late in games. Pau is the better player, but Bargnani is a much better fit with Antoni's system, Nash and Howard.

Mitch must be trying to swindle some team out there into a 3 team trade.

:childplease: If Terrence Ross isn't in the deal, than f*ck outta here with that deal. I don't get why the Raptors drafted Ross when they already have DeRozan. And Ross would really shine in the D'Antoni system :whew: And I wouldn't mind Pek, but we already have Dwight. :ehh: Unless the Wolves trade Love or AK47 for Pau, than :pacspit: at the Wolves. But, I actually wouldn't mind taking a chance and going with Derrick Williams if a 3rd trade partner wants to get involved, like the Jazz for Millsap. :ehh: But, :rudy: we gotta see how things go once Nashty Nash comes back, one of the main reason he came here was because of that Elmo Spainard faggit. Plus you know Mitch doesn't want to miss up his 2014 plan, so you gotta keep that in mind.
