LeBron James Reacts to Speculation Over Not Attending Kobe Bryant's Memorial - E! Online
Lebron James appeared notably absent from yesterday's celebration of life service for Kobe Bryant. Here's what the L.A. Lakers star had to say about the gathering.

LeBron James evasive about whether he attended Kobe Bryant memorial
LeBron James praised the strength of Vanessa Bryant following the memorial for Kobe and Gianna Bryant, but he did not say he attended the ceremony.

Since LeBron James was not shown on the video screen or spotted in television camera shots at the “Celebration of Life for Kobe and Gianna Bryant” on Monday at Staples Center, the Lakers forward was asked at practice Tuesday if he attended the ceremony.
All of the Lakers supposedly attended the ceremony, as did NBA stars Stephen Curry, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum and Klay Thompson.
NBA Hall of Famers Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal spoke.
Other celebrities and basketball luminaries were constantly shown on the overhead screen or were visible when television cameras panned the crowd, but not James.
James was evasive when asked whether he attended the ceremony. He was effusive in his praise of Bryant’s widow, Vanessa
“Like I said, man, it’s just … I respect your question, for sure,” James said at the Lakers’ shoot-around Tuesday. “It was very emotional, very emotional day, very tough day for myself, for my family, for everyone involved.
People used the LA Times article saying he was there to blowback against SAS, while completely ignoring the follow up LA Times article questioning if he was there.
UPDATE:
This is the original article the LA Times published about the memorial, this is the article with the screenshot used to discredit SAS
Jimmy Kimmel, Jennifer Lopez, Snoop Dogg among the celebs at Kobe Bryant memorial
Tears streamed down Jennifer Lopez's face as Vanessa Bryant spoke at Monday's memorial for Kobe Bryant. Lopez was one of many celebs spotted in the crowd.

They literally went back YESTERDAY and self corrected for the record in that very same article
For the record:
3:13 p.m. March 27, 2025 This article listed LeBron James among the celebrities who attended Kobe Bryant’s memorial service in 2020. A few days after this article was published, The Times asked James whether he attended the memorial and he declined to answer directly. “Like I said, man, it’s just … I respect your question, for sure. It was very emotional, very emotional day, very tough day for myself, for my family, for everyone involved.”
UPDATE 2:
Pablo Torre asks several high level people involved with Kobe's memorial, none of them saw him there
But somehow SAS just throw out a random accusation? It wasn't random.
No one is ready to have real discussions about Bron's suspect behavior. For all I know he was there. But the cover ups and avoidance and widescale blowback against SAS while ignoring the fact the LA Times themselves were skeptical is nasty work.
