Although not the album it should have been being his first solo there were some great tracks produced by Battlecat and Daz. This was around the time where the West Coast was stepping away from the traditional G Funk sound and although keeping eerie loops and hard bass. Daz really came into his own production wise from 96-01

This beat right here is crazy and it was made in 96/97. The keys from Soopafly stand out but it’s put together extremely well. Song doesn’t need a hook just 3 hard ass verses and let the beat ride out at the end. Classic for me and if it was released today it wouldn’t sound out of place

CLASSIC...

But i wish Daz & Kurupt never went solo and just kept dropping material as Tha Dogg Pound

why?

Kurupt dropped a classic with Streetz and probably would have had another if his Death Row material had been released back in ‘96-97

Daz has a dope discography himself, especially his first 3 albums

Kurupt solo during DR heyday wouldve been great but i mean 98-01/02... Kurupt during that timeframe was good but alot of :ld: material...

To me personally there were really no mis steps on the west coast disc except the long ass skits, Daz, Battlecat, Soopafly, Warren G..they all came with dope beats for the album, some of the songs that were left off the album definitely could have replaced those interludes though.

the skits and a lot of the tracks were too long on the East Coast disc. Plus the fact that Kurupt couldn’t get a Pete Rock or Premo beat still baffles me

It’s A Set Up bangs tho:lawd:
