Kurt Cobain Shares Favorite Bands, Views on Vanilla Ice in 25-Year Old Rediscovered Interview

"I think rap music is the only vital form of music that has been introduced to music in a long time since punk rock. I would never do rap music. No. There’s just no sense in it. The people who do rap music do it just fine…I’m usually offended by people like Vanilla Ice and stuff like that…The white man ripped off the black man long enough. They should leave rap music to the African-Americans because they do it so well and it is so vital to them."

Star said Kurt Cobain acknowledged hip hop was about to take over rock and thats why he blew his head off.

Bolded probably true. Not bolded part is some :mjlol: star would add on for attention.

Nobody'll ever know why he killed himself, but it was probably a mixture of drug addiction, undiagnosed mental illness, a shytty childhood, marrying a crazy courtney love, and the fact that all the music he loved growing up had been co-opted by the commercial music industry.

His suicide note was all about regret over becoming some social pariah, or gen-x spokesman, so if anything, knowing that rock was about to die would be a giant relief to him, because he hated everything about the "rock" scene.

The craziest shyt that nobody talks about is how Pac, Biggie, and Cobain (three biggest musical icons of the 90s) all died in that decade.
They should've been the leading figures in music for the next decade or so, instead there was a giant vacuum that got filled up by babypop boy/girl groups - and so music overall the last 20 or so years has become more childish and less mature, exacerbating the death of genuine artistry and leaving us with a buncha rainbow dreadlocked, cookie cutter, creatively bankrupted so-called "musicians".

Off topic: I wanna hear the full Steve Albini mixed version of In Utero....Not just the bits and pieces out there.
Nah, everything on In Utero besides All Apologized and Heart Shaped Box are Albini's mixes.

It was Nevermind that got its mixes changed on the final version. First one was done by Butch Vig but the band wasn't really fukkin with it so the label had Andy Wallace remix it...but then in hindsight Nirvana realized Vig's version was better and Wallace's was too glossy and radio friendly:heh:

Vig's mixes got put on the 2011 re-release. IMO I'm 50/50 on it...certain tracks sound better with the grimier original mix like Breed, In Bloom, Lounge Act, and On a Plain, but then Come As You Are is too muddy and Lithium is damn near a whole different song because of the lack of double tracking and stuff.

Didn't Kurt draw Nazi art and symbols in his journals?

and i get depression and how crippling it can be but I'll never understand blowing my head off less than a year after I sold 5 million records

at least wait until ur a flabby n sick has been before u do that
I read his journals a while back...the Nazi symbols were used in little doodles he made mocking racists and shyt. All throughout his journal he'd talk about Aberdeen (his hometown) being a shythole filled with racist hicks.

And Kurt didn't care about selling records. He wanted to still be an indy punk rock guy, Nevermind just blew the fukk up outta nowhere. He hated the media circus, commercial radio, and everything that came with getting famous.

What the fukk, Stars full of shyt:laff:

Kurt was murdered :sas2:
Word is that Courtney Love had her side dude, a lead from a lesser known band, take him out to cash in :sas2:
With the type of gun he used, it wouldve been impossible to put the barrel in your mouth and pull the trigger at the same time unless you uses your feet to pull due to the length :dame::sas2:

He was found with chucks on his feet :sas2:

Albini was critical of the album's final mix; he said, "The end result, the record in the stores doesn't sound all that much like the record that was made. Though it's still them singing and playing their songs, and the musical quality of it still comes across."

I wanna hear the raw version before it hit the stores that's mentioned in this statement. The main reason they recruited Albini was for his sound and Albini obviously implies that they altered it.
