I dunno maybe it's just me but i didn't think "Benoit" when Angle did his whole serious heel thing, probably because even though he was intense, there was still always a level of comedic factor to it at certain moments, something Benoit NEVER did. His intense gimmick in 06' was hilarious

Like his classic "Troops" promo :pachaha:
kurt angle gets pissed off - YouTube

Have you ever seen a shoot interview with Angle? He wanted to be serious after he got settled in. People just seen him as comedic because he's charismatic.

Of course. Angle was massively overrated in 2000 in the ring. He was just a spot worker who copied Benoit for like his first 4 years. His comedy mic ability and getting under the crowd's skin was his true talent that made him stand out.

why are you expecting a rookie to perform like a polished pro? He wasnt overrated at all for a guy completing his first year in the business. HE had one of the most successful rookie years of all time.

How does the Rock's first year or two stack up to Angle's?:youngsabo:

Who cares if Angle was modeling his style after Benoit. Benoit ripped off the dynamite kid. Great workers borrow from each other; that aint new

Stacks up pretty well considering by WM 13 he was pretty fukking hated as a smiling face during a year that had Austin/Bret feuding, Bret turning heel, Michaels faking injuries to leave television, the NwO going strong, Sting being unstoppable...and the Rock's title reign in 1998 pretty much shyt on every one Angle ever had. But that goes without saying..you asked.

The thing is..Angle isn't no greatest anything. He was very good and gets over complimented. VERY good worker. That's his legacy really. The guy that fans turned on Cena for in 2005 but as we ALL KNOW, Vince didn't give two flying fukks about that.

Not about that. As always, your kind looks at it wrong. Angle was given a monster push and needed several names to lay down and put him over. Everybody but Austin did it. So its easy to say he was better as a rookie than anyone else.

Kurt debuted when Austin was out for nine months due to his neck. By the time Austin came back Kurt was a month away from winning the title :myman:

The only reason Austin ain't do it was because he wasn't even wrestling at the time :pachaha:
