Norfeast groovin…
Said the same thing in the 'seum, Kobe's response was ok up until he started name dropping. Ruined his whole statement, doing some passive aggressive shyt shows he ain't know who he was dealing with so it was better to say nothing or even take the advice Jim was giving while ignoring the stupid parts.

Kobe should have asked me to write his response. I wouldnt have written anything. Just respect your elders and let them have their say.

Lets have those conversations in private instead of emulating unethical behavior.

:ld:Unethical behavior? What was unethical? Ethnics are relative.

Also if you practiced what you preach you would have PMed me instead of disagreeing with me in public.

This isnt as touchy a subject as the one surrounding Kobe and Shaq. A situation that had the potential to destroy families. No one is destroyed in our friendly dialogues, friend.

Dude, you tripped over your own logic.

Moreover you're mentioning Kobe and Shaq when I responded to Kobe and Jim Brown (hence your reply: "Just respect your elders and let them have their say"). I don't know what you're responding to anymore.

I'll talk it one step further though. Maybe MLK should have just listened to his White elders, huh? See what I did there...

I didnt trip over my logic friend, you did

The Kobe Shaq situation is one that doesnt require someone to call Kobe out in public due to its sensitive nature so personally i dont see why Jim Brown would say anything about it in public. I think Kobe should have responded to his comments privately to take the wheels off the story in the media. His response didnt help and it didnt hurt. I think its a situation that called for a more quiet approach.

Jim Brown shouldn't have aired his grievances towards Kobe in the public square, or the least JB could have said his piece and not name drop anybody specifically. While he didn't go so far as to insinuate that Kobe is a c00n, he did accuse him of being irresponsible, out of touch, and neglectful to his people. In an almost condradictory manner, he even insinuated that Kobe really isn't a black man in America and that he's really an immigrant from Italy. JB's words while not quite as offensive as labeling Kobe a c00n, are damn near close enough.

Real talk, it's not like JB couldn't have gotten in contact with Kobe. He's arguably the greatest running back that ever played that position, so he's got connections in the sports world. Not to mention Amer-I-Can, which has a ton of affiliates in California. I'm sure somebody could have reached out to Kobe privately instead of putting him on complete blast in front of the whole world.

There's a generational apect to this too. My father is a huge JB fan, swears dude is the greatest RB ever. He loves JB too though because of how he conducted himself back in the day. Do the history on JB, he made Suge and a lot of these super goons we talk about here in the Booth look like Pee Wee Herman. Jim Brown was Pac, Monster Kody, Suge, Malcolm X all rolled up into one hard-headed unfukkwitable man. Sidney Portier was falling in love with white women, Jim Brown just grabbed them by the arm and put em in line. That said, talking with my father on this Kobe situation, my father agreed immediately and started calling out other atheltes like Michael Jordan who for instance didn't totally support Mahmoud Abdul Rauf during his issues with the national anthem. A lot of the old school brothers don't see eye to eye with our generation. They look at us like we're soft and assimilating too easily without resistance and I agree with them to some degree. I say some degree though because society isn't exactly the same as it was during the 60's.
