The majority of the Alt-Right never were in the military or bailed early, know nothing about violence, or being tough in general. Even the ones who look the part (tattoos, beards, etc).

The extreme right and other fringe groups should be taken a little more seriously, but they aren’t nearly as big in number.

You’re right, when there’s a big group of them they’re dangerous mostly because of how scared they are. However, if that was the best they could do (Charlottesville), I’d say America is pretty safe from them.

To your second point, those militia types group you described was what I was referring to. Extreme and willing to commit attacks on their own country. Heavy in places like Washington (state), Utah, Nevada, Oregon, etc.
