It's time to step in the zone. No, not the AutoZone. I'm talking about the Killzone. Guerilla Games' iconic red-eyed antagonists, the Helghast, as well as the men and women of the ISA, will be joining the likes of Kratos and Ratchet and Clank as the Killzone Trilogy becomes the latest PlayStation Collection to hit store shelves.
The PlayStation Collection kicked off a couple of weeks ago with the likes of the God of War Saga, the inFamous Collection and the Ratchet and Clank Collection, offering complete (to near complete) game libraries for big PS3 series, all at a nice, affordable price.
Now the Killzone Trilogy is set to release on Oct. 23, offering all three Killzone games, including an HD-ified version of the original PlayStation 2 game, for $39.99. I hope you're ready for a rousing war speech.
Back when Killzone 3 dropped in early 2011, it was supposed to include a digital copy of the original Killzone. That perk was cut at the last minute, however, leading me to wonder how long, exactly, these PlayStation Collections have been in the works. But maybe I'm just being paranoid.
Along with the three core games, you'll also get all online map packs for Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 included at no extra charge. These include Steel and Titanium, Flash and Thunder and Napalm and Cordite for Killzone 2, and Steel Rain, Retro, and From the Ashes for Killzone 3. There's a new Killzone set to hit the Vita at some point and, without giving away any spoilers, the ending of Killzone 3 leaves plenty of room for another sequel to be added at some point. What I'm saying is, this looks like a pretty sound way and pretty great timing to catch up on your Killzone lore.

Never played these games. What's so great about them?
