This really did capture the appeal back then tho. I started getting into dbz and anime in general those days because as a kid all the American action shows were kinda mid fight wise.

Superman fights be like 4 punches long with 0 stakes and most of it cut away because they were scared of censors & karens like the author.

Yet on DBZ you had blood, bone breaking hits (18 breaking Vegeta's arm ) characters good and bad getting bodied. Dudes having giant beam struggles to that can destroy the planet, and a planet actually being destroyed. It was the littest thing on the planet for kid me. shyt was raw
