I remember back when I'd be watching WCW wrasslin and mark the fukk out for near-falls and the closer the call the more I marked out. Malenko and Benoit were masters of this shyt, laying there completely dead then shoulder up at 2 9/10s. And I'd be captivated. That suspense was and is still my favorite part of wrestling. If you couldn't do that, I couldn't fukk with you.

Rock and Ric Flair in his prime were great at this...after a close fall, the ROCKY chants jut got more emblazoned. Another part of his genius...didn't have to dominate and knew the right psychology to pull the crowd into what he was doing.
