AMIR KHAN is going back to the drawing board in a bid to save his Floyd Mayweather dream.

The Bolton star was totally down in the dumps following his nervy points win over Chris Algieri on Friday night.

Khan reckons he walked out to the ring totally flat and that his 14 -week training camp had sapped him of his explosive energy.

The 28 year-old knows Mayweather would have watched him struggle and thought the Brit would be easy pickings.

So Khan will speak with trainer Virgil Hunter in the next two weeks and tell the California cornerman exactly how he feels.

He said: "We all have bad days and good days, I'm glad I got through it. Physically Algieri looked bigger than me, I did not look as big as I did in the last two fights.

"There was something there that wasn't right, I will tell you honestly. "I did feel flat, there were a few things that I did differently from previous camps.

"There were a few things I did differently in the last two weeks that I had not really done before and I was not used to it, it was a few technique things I was doing differently.

"I don't know if I got caught in between two different styles, training wise we also changed things.

"Looking back now, I think I made the weight too early, a lot of people were saying that my physique was not as it was before.

"I did not feel the same explosiveness, the speed or the power. I've not spoken to Virgil about it yet, but I will do. Imagine if I had trained this way for say someone like Floyd."

Khan would be a joke last fight for mayweather.

Give mayweather kell brook so the goatness can be solidified into eternity.

But doubtful since he hasnt really beaten any "names"

The Shawn porter victory should have gotten him in line.

I thought the Porter victory was gonna do it too, although, I thought Porter was gonna beat Kell and jump to the front of the line. Still, why not grab that IBF strap? Go to the UK, get that Wembly PPV money. I think Khan's gonna get the nod though. I remember some time back Khan stated that Mayweather promised him an opportunity. Floyd's a loyal dude and it wouldn't surprise me if Khan was telling the truth.

What would be hilarious to me though, would be if Cotto beats Geale, screws Canelo/Fishnets/HBO over and rematches Floyd for that MW strap. After getting outboxed again, Cotto rides off into the sunset with a bigger paycheck than he would have received fighting GGG or Canelo. Wishful thinking, plus I think his contract stipulates Canelo after Geale. Would have been funny to me anyways.

Now this entitled muthaphukker is coming up with excuses while Brook is humble as fukk to a fault just playing his role and working his way up the ladder defending his belt against the best opponents he can get in the ring with him

Nobody sees you when you're being humble. Brook is doing it to himself.
