I have 6 weeks left on my bulk. was planning to start my cut at the beginning of july...only trying to lose 15 lbs though. would you guys recommend a traditional cardio based cut or would keto be the best choice for me. by the end of my bulk ill probably be around 13% body fat...hoping to get down to 9 by the end of my cut....hoping for 8 though. i've been reading and some people say keto leaves your muscles looking flat. this is exactly what I don't want. I want my muscles to pop. is keto more geared towards obese people or would it be good for somebody like me who doesn't have much losing to do. always wanted to try the diet cause the whole premise just sounds fukkin great to me.

It's a bit much to manage to actually get into ketosis. I would just go lower carb initially and see how that works for you.

I thought it only takes 3-4 days to get into ketosis?....and wouldn't the low carb thing be a waste if your body doesn't actually go into ketosis. I thought the whole point was to get your body to use fat as a source of energy, which is the reason your supposed to eat no direct source of carbs.

It depends on how hard you are going to go at it. If you are really committed to trying @awkwardblackgirl could be a good resource. Usually people underestimate what a true ketogenic diet is.

You can get your body to use fat without being in true ketosis.

the question i'm really looking to be answered was wether or not keto would be right for me....considering i'm only lookin to lose 15 lbs. or is it more geared towards people trying to lose a lot of weight. has anybody here done keto only to lose 10-15 lbs and achieved great results?

I haven't done it prolonged enough to answer the last question.

Usually people use it to drop that last collection of fat they want to eliminate and hit a certain body fat %. Its not really sustainable for long periods mentally and health wise.

Yea, I was at a weight loss plateau for a year and only had like 10lbs to lose. Changed my macros, and the weight fell right off. I don't think it works better for someone who needs to lose more weight vs someone who needs to lose less. It just works.

Just count your calories and create a small defict everyday, does the job just fine without that keto BS, wich is unhealthy for your body anyway...

oh and carbs will make your muscles look more swole

I did the keto diet 3 yrs ago and it worked but when I did it a year later- my body didnt respond the same. My weight training and cardio was pretty similar in spits and intensity. I have read that some people dont get the same results the second time around.

I just use moderate carbs, moderate protein and lower fat ( most protein comes via egg whites, fish and chicken- very little beef during the "slimming process"
