So you think a foreign imposed dictatorship will save Haiti?

Have you heard of the American-backed Duvalier family?
I think a military occupation is needed but no one gives enough of a shyt about Haiti to do what needs to be done.

A lot of people in America don't realize how things are in a lot of these developing countries, even if they had real elections with no foreign interference, chances are the politicians will be corrupt c*nts and the gangs will remain doing whatever the fukk they want, they need someone else to come in and put everyting in order or a Bukkele style leader than the cops and military follows and is not afraid of the UN or the states talking shyt about his methods.

Do you think a US or NATO military occupation of Haiti, as you interestingly propose, will go more like Iraq or Afghanistan?

Wow! Sounds like sending corrupt Kenyan security forces to act as lackeys for US imperialism isn’t working.
:leon:
I almost forgot this thread was about haiti

those Kenyan protests really derailed this shyt.
Not true at all ... at least not in the most important area: revenue generation but they are great at building infra to extract resources! :pachaha:

The train from Nairobi to Mombassa for example does not generate revenue but it (couple with other Chinese loans) make a large portion of Kenyan external debt that China has been fairly stern on repayment.

If the Chinese loans were low interest with endless capital then IMF would never be in the picture. Not to say Eurobonds arent deadly and a key cause.
A response to you and @Wiseborn

Africa did develop from the chinese. At a steep cost but it did. And i'm not talking about the fukking trains and this is why we can't have this discussion... if you have not lived the pre and post of it. the train system network was never fully realized it was supposed to extend into other landlocked countries to be profitable, that's why it's not profitable, it's half baked as is. The idea was to go into the interior and provide access to the coast aka Mombasa. They have built more infrastructure than that fukking train line. when I say benefit I mean you can actually see what the money built. you don't understand why that is important. we borrowed money and build nothing for decades... The Chinese Africa relationship in the early 00's jump started our resurgence economically.

when you guys start talking about us being owned by China I shut that shyt down... we owe them they don't own us. be clear on that. that insinuation is not the same. let's not forget this forum spent 10 years telling us China owned airports in Zambia and was policing South Africans etc. The stretching of the truth has to stop. Just stop embellishing.

it's not a fix it just is what was at that time. nobody talking about this can go back in time and offer alternatives. the true failure of Kenya was in those contract negotiations, in accepting bad terms. we needed the help that's not in question

You can’t take American jingoists seriously when they discuss things beyond their home state.

You gotta treat them like toddlers and say, “Yes, America is an empire. No, stop that. You’re suffering from consent being manufactured to have you support an oligarchic duopoly. You’re drooling, love. Mhm - genocide is BAD.”

Excuses for what?
You’re running out of people to blame. The USA purposely did not impose its “imperialist” predilections by asking Kenya to do it. It was literally “africans policing africans” and you’re happy its not working.

OK, well, so much for Haiti.

my parents are from Jamaica so I can speak to some of this…but China often won’t train the locals about maintenance and you’re seeing things like rail networks falling into disrepair because of it. So yes, China does “own” the intellectual capital needed to obtain the ROI from these investments.

Long before the Chinese we were importing Indians to train Africans decades ago and they would get to the country cut and run. Not return home. And the imf loans amounted to nothing. I know China is holding out on shyt but that's on us for weak negotiations. Same as the loan terms. Regardless none of this means that they own us. Long before the uprising of this year I told fools on here Kenyans don't play. I would hope that we demonstrated that this year with the uprisings. The calculated way in which these youth got at the elite is not to be slept on. We don't belong to China

You’re playing a thinly veiled semantics game.

The US’ ambassador to Kenya came up with the idea and bragged about it before she was chased out of Kenya by youth protesters and forced to resign.
