Everytime he’s made commercially viable music, the albums went to the stratosphere. GNX is about as poppy “feel good” Kendrick has gotten since DAMN. Damn did like 600k first week or something ridiculous. Dot knew what he had with this short ass easily repayable crowd pleaser. Don’t know why ppl thought he didn’t have it in him. It’s the easiest algorithmic formula to exploit. That’s why using numbers as a sole metric of what’s considered a hip hop classic was always dumb. “Such and such is carrying the game”. NBA fan logic thrown into hip hop. Now the Dot haters know why that logic was alwyas stupid.
