Kendrick Lamar chopped it up with The Coveteur while out in Manchester, England recently for an interview mainly about his shoe collaboration with Reebok.

During the conversation, K Dot was asked about his style influences to which he mentioned that he is a “huge” Lil Wayne fan even to this day. He then went on to say that Weezy is the “greatest” and not just for his music, but also for what he has done for the culture.

You can read exactly what Kendrick said about Tunechi below!

“Yeah, man, we was heavy. That’s a real story like, we was just huge, still to this day, huge Lil Wayne fans. Lil Wayne is the greatest. Not only because of his music but also because of the culture he put behind it. It was a big part of what he was talking about, so we always hold Lil Wayne in high regards. Juvenile as well. And yeah, it’s the impact of them man. To be a part of it the same way he was a part of it years later is just a great feeling.”

:manny: not surprised at all by this statement.

Other than his collabo mixtape with Jay Rock, the first K.Dot mixtape I (or probably most ppl who were paying attention to him back then) ever listened was "C4" where he was rapping over some Carter 3 beats :manny:

edit. not to mention that when you're listening to his earlier music you can hear the Wayne influence in his delivery too
