Overly Dedicated. a 4 Mic type Mixtape (put him on the radar)
Section 80 - 5 Mics (an absolute classic )
Good Kid Maad City - 5 Mics (first classic album in a decade)
To Pimp a Butterfly (Kendrick's "It Was Written", wont be appreciated until time goes on) but this might be the most important album of the past decade or so.

He releases a few more 4 or 5 mic albums or mixtapes, then put him down in the top 25 all time rappers :yeshrug:

In an era of gettin turnt, IG whoring, lame ass rappers on Twitter, he's able to release classic shyt like that.. :mjcry:

Section 80 a mix tape just like If You're Reading This :troll:
I don't know why so many people call Section 80 a mixtape, most likely cause it wasn't on a major (or was it :troll:).
I can dig Drakes album cause that's what Drake calls it and its basically just a long ass collection of songs. I'd be fine by calling it a compilation album.
Kendricks is not only an album it's a concept album with a structured storyline, a lead single and all that.

How in the Hell could TPAB not be appreciated until times go on when it has UNIVERSAL acclaim already within its first week. It Was Written is one of the most controversial, divisive, and polarizing follow up albums in history. TPAB has every publication from The Source to Rolling Stone singing its praises....

I remember the day that album came out. Mad Nas fans thought he had sold out with the mafioso gimmick and commercial beats. It was a big change-up from illmatic. Most fans over time have come to realize it might arguably be his best album. But I remember dudes getting mad and taking it personal like they can't fukk with Nas no more:mjlol:

I will say I never imagined he'd be dropping albums this creative and dense when I first heard him. Training Day and C4 made him seem like just another mixtape rapper (even though he showed flashes of being diffferent). Then he switched the name, dropped the Kendrick Lamar EP and showed growth.

He just keeps getting better. He's in that group of artists whose full progression can be seen online. His earliest shyt is all available. If you go back and listen to everything you appreciate his music more.

That's critics...a lot of his stans aren't feeling Kendrick this time around, lots of casual fans aren't feeling this album and that's from my observation. I don't think there's any doubt that this album alienated some of his fans. Personally, I really like the album and think it's better than good kid, M.a.a.d. City.

Even It Was Written had good reviews, 4 Mics from The Source, nearly perfect reviews from the Chicago Tribune and LA Times, and A- review from Entertainment Weekly, 4 stars from AllMusic, etc.
