We may as well get this started early, these two are projected to be the first big men taken in next years draft, I didn't say first pick since Mudiay is currently killing it in China and some teams that end up with the number 1 pick are in need of a player like him (Lakers/Pacers). Outside of someone just popping up out of nowhere, or one of them getting injured they seem like a lock to be the big guys for 2015.
Okafor is currently the consensus number 1 pick (Mudiay could take that though), but from what I've read scouts think Towns could have the higher ceiling because he has a an outside game and could end up an inside/outside threat. Jahlil has a polished post game and plays a lot of bully ball to go along with the skill, he does seem to have some trouble right now with athletic long defenders but he'll adjust in time, the things he does will translate but may not have a very high ceiling. Towns has a high ceiling but he could end up falling in love with his jumper, if he can find the balance between playing in the post and shooting the jumper he could be special, I think he ends up a PF at the NBA level where as Jahlil will be a center.
Height (with shoes)
Towns - 6'11.25"
Okafor - 6'10.5"
Wingspan
Okafor - 7'5"
Towns - 7'3.25"
Weight
Okafor - 272lbs
Towns - 250lbs
There's no vertical numbers on Okafor, but Towns is pretty explosive for his size, 36.5" vert for a near 7 footer @ 250lbs is excellent, for comparisons sake DeAndre Jordan had a 30.5" vert when he came into the league. Just watching them Towns looks like the better athlete of the two, seems to be quicker in general and more explosive while Jahlil plays below the rim a lot.
I know about Myles Turner, but nobody seems that high on him, he'd need to have an Embiid like showing for him to be taken over Okafor & Towns, who seem to be the best two bigs in the draft class.
