Weird setup here. Kane and Mankind were the tag team champions, but Kane had turned on Mankind beforehand. This is also 6 days before Summerslam, where Kane and Mankind are supposed to defend the tag titles vs the New Age Outlaws (Kane doesn’t show up til after the match to kick Mankind’s ass )



That crowd and this match is during the first hour of Raw and it’s so chaotic with the Taker and Austin appearances

bruh... this is hardcore match done right without a drop of blood. Pacing wasn't the usual slough that current WWE hardcore match have become where it feels like these dude got to take a break every 30 seconds.

I don’t think those types of crowds and atmosphere will ever come back. A random Raw/SD from those years compared to 09 or 2011 is a major stark contrast, pretty cringey and unwatchable

I was watching a raw from 99 the other night, they kept trying too jump into focus of the hard camera, cheering while matches were happening and shyt.
