With his resurgence over the last 10 months or so, I want to discuss this directly...
We spend a ton of time talking about Gucci or Jeezy or Future or Tip or Wayne's place in rap history, but what is Juve's?
I think it's clear, his popularity never really went anywhere even with years of not dropping music. I was a child when he was at his hottest, so older brothers will have to illustrate how he fit into a landscape with X and Lox and people of the time period he was at his hottest...
But having been a fan since a kid, my impression is while he may never have been as commercially successful, he always had a core/cult following, and I feel like his work has always been respected...
I don't know if cats consider him a GOAT10 southern rapper, but I think I do. And when those GOAT50 lists dropped a year or two ago was his name on aby of them? Do any of you think he has a claim as one of the 50 greatest rappers ever?
Let's discuss it!
