Yeah
Justice League may still be a few years from arriving in theaters, but Warner Bros. seems to be locking down talent for their 2015 summer blockbuster.
Hitfix reports that Joseph Gordon-Levitt "absolutely will be appearing in Justice League as the new Batman." According to the site, JGL may be appearing in a promo bump at the end of Man of Steel (which is due in theaters next summer), similar to what Marvel did to the run-up to The Avengers.
Needless to say, comic book movie sites have been in an uproar since the rumor hit last night.
Meanwhile, Hollywood.com checked in with JGL's reps who, not surprisingly, refuted the rumor entirely and said that it was most likely leaked by Warner Bros to drum up interest in the home video release of The Dark Knight Rises next week.
Do you think JGL will don the Bat Suit or was this all a publicity stunt to drum up home video sales?

:dj2::ohlawd:

It's goin be a hot summer.

I thought the JGL rumor was shot down a few days ago..

It was denied by people involved...but they'd do that whether it was accurate or not :manny:

It won't be "shot down" until someone else is cast in the role.

Of course there's gonna be a JL teaser at the end of the movie. They're following Marvel's blueprint to the T. Why wouldn't they?

I doubt JGL ends up being Batman but Man Of Steel tying into a Justice League film most likely will happen. Don't be surprised if WB announces a JL movie inspired by the New 52 version in the coming months.

His reps would never confirm it until it was official.

I wouldn't mind them keeping him as Batman in a JL movie. Its not going to focus on his alter ego anyways so noone would be missing him as Bruce Wayne. And its a perfect way to keep the franchise going while keeping in continuity with Nolan's trilogy.

That sounds good in theory....but if he'd Batman in a JL pic, he'd be Batman in a solo franchise as well. And someone besides Bruce Wayne being Batman is kinda.....:kobedamn:

Yup. And if you keep JGL that means you're staying in Nolan's universe. Which means you can't use Two Face because he's dead. Catwoman is with Bruce. You have to use Joker when doing a Batman franchise, but keeping it within Nolan's universe brings up the question of if you can since Ledger is the Joker.

And from Cracked:

That doesn't change the fact that Gotham City is still screwed, because there's no Batman. Sure, Bruce left all his gadgets and stuff to Blake, but that was an incredibly naive thing to do, because it ignores the fact that Batman's true superpower was always money. If his tank broke down or exploded, he just got a new one. Actually, forget the tank: What's Blake gonna do when something tears up his Batsuit, like the dogs at the beginning of The Dark Knight? Patch it up with duct tape?

And that's the other thing: Bruce trained to be Batman by traveling the world for seven years, most of which was spent with a group of highly skilled assassins in the mountains. Contrast that with Blake/Robin, who was at one point overpowered by Gary Oldman in a hospital gown. What's going to happen when the Joker comes back (presumably he escaped from prison with the other criminals), or when a guy who looks like the Penguin as played by Philip Seymour Hoffman inevitably shows up?
