Warners Bros. Secretly Revives JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie

The inevitable has occurred.

In wake of the monster worldwide critical and box office success of Marvel/Disney/Joss Whedon’s superhero mash-up The Avengers, Variety reports Warner Bros. began quietly reviving plans last year to bring the Justice League to the big (no doubt 3D) screen.

Reportedly in anticipation of the success of The Avengers, Warners secretly hired “hot” screenwriter Will Beall (Gangster Squad, Lethal Weapon reboot) to script the project. Beall reportedly has not yet turned in the screenplay.

The last attempt to bring the Justice League to the big screen was canned four years ago, with the studio citing a lack of tax breaks as the main reason it pulled the plug. According to the Hollywood trade, that version also required rewrites that were not possible at the time due to the Writer’s Guild of America strike.

If Warner Bros. is still behind the new iteration of the project, look for more news soon after what’s sure to be the big box office debut of Dark Knight Rises. The studio reportedly had no comment on the report at this time.

more than likely they would do things in reverse. the only established character would be Superman with the new film.....they would use the Justice League movie to introduce a new Batman and all of the other characters.

That's what I think too...Superman will be the tentpole that leads directly into a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie.

They need to throw a shytload of cash at Bale to be Batman though instead of gong through the hassle of a reboot. Just do like the comics do and have the new Batman movies be less "realistic" (like certain Batman comics are more grounded in relaity while others are more "comic bookish") and more grounded in a joined DC movie universe.

The problem with Bale is his Bruce Wayne persona.

Bale as Bruce Wayne really comes off as a smarmy, couldn't care less kind of dude. Granted, it's a facade, but Keaton was able to put up that facade while simultaneously showing that he was always scheming and plotting in the back of his mind. I don't get that level of calculation going on with Bale's character, and it's essential to a Justice League storyline, imo.

They should've went foward with whedon doing that wonder woman movie. The movie is gonna fail if they don't bring the right director that can balance all these guys and still able to get great action scenes. They might need to get the guys who did the justice league cartoon to handle this

This is going to fail. DC tries to make these movies to serious or dark or even based in reality. For a good action hero movie you have to go in the opposite direction of all that. I guess this new superman will be the true indicator of how things will go.
