This past week I just binged on supernatural episodes, and I just finished the last episode of season 5 a couple of minutes ago.

Now I know there are 4 more seasons to watch, but the way they ended season 5 seems too perfect of an ending for the show to continue on.

Should I continue on and watch the rest of the seasons (does it get better or do the rest of the seasons ruin what was already a great and completed story)?

Spoiler edit:
chuck was god all along right?

IF you want to keep your high opinion of the show I would say stop at Season 5.
Things go really bad in seasons 6 & 7, look like they are getting better in season 8 but then fall off again and the current season is just weak rehashing of old themes.

Like Jello said the quality after the 5th season does drop cuz they got a new writer. The writer for the first 5 seasons wanted to end it at 5, but CW was like :whoa: and wanted to milk that shyt. That said, seasons 6 and 7 aren't THAT bad IMO and watchable if you're a fan of the series overall. They got a new writer for season 8 (current season) and will end the series after season 10. This season started off pretty strong, but is falling off again cuz they're trying to do too much like in seasons 6 and 7. Hopefully they pick it up again cuz they did have a dope plot going early on this season.

Just lower your expectations if you do decide to watch the later seasons.

:aicmon: I gotta agree with you. Last Season (Season 8) was an encouraging bounce back season. This season, just seems like a lot rehash. I hope the CW announces at the upfronts in May, that the next season is the last season & only has 13 episodes, so they can go out with a bang.

It seemed to work for "One Tree Hill". I'm currently watching through the last season of OTH (Season 9) and the fact that the CW announced it was gonna be the last season with only 13 episodes seems to have focused the writers/producers. The last season is actually a solid enjoyable season, after coming off 2 back-to back garbage-ass seasons.

:snoop: God, I hope the CW doesn't milk "The Vampire Diaries". I don't wanna see that show going on as many seasons as "Supernatural" because it's not gonna be pretty. I already see a lot folks complaining about the current season's storyline.

I don't think they will. Right now there spin-off series The Originals seems to be getting more popular. I can see em ending the Vampire Diaries within a season or two and just focusing on that.

And I was thinking we were currently in season 8. Forgot we're in 9 already lol.

TVD has already become completely creatively bankrupt. I found myself unable to watch an episode without FFing through most of it so I just deleted it from the DVR and gave up on the show.

if you stop at season 5, it's one of the greatest stories ever told.
