Just to show how Jay brainwashed you, what was his 3rd "classic" he mentions on BP?

I know I just made a negative Jay thread but someone made a thead about Philly Freeway >BP and I thought of that lyric. Has it ever been explained?

Up to that point Jay had 2 albums only that could be argued as classic, RD and Vol 2 (which to me is trash but it had a ton of hits), there was no other album he made close to being debated as classic.

Now this lyric is on the BP, so he couldnt have been counting BP, but yet maybe he was, he knew he had yall brainwashed and he knew all the mags was gonna give it a perfect score.

vol 1 and dynasty > vol 2 IMO

Dynasty is a Roc A Fella "group" album though. Beans outshines Jay on that.

completely agree, vol 1 and dynasty might be my two fav jay albums after RD. Vol 1 was the only album he was lyrically as good as RD, and Dynasty was pretty dope, rhymes and beats for the most part were fire.

Since the first time I heard that line I always thought he was just talking about vol 1,2, and 3...dynasty was a roc album and RD wasn't getting the kind of acclaim as a "classic" before BP came out, it was considered a commercial failure because it didn't sell and wasn't recognized as a great body of work until after BP.

More reason why I think he's talking about vol 1,2,3 in that line, rewind an album back to dynasty on change the game where he says "4th album still jay still spitting that real shyt, vol 3 still sold more records than will smith." He's saying dynasty is the 4th album he's on.

He clearly treated RD like a red headed step child until everyone started to love it.

It might either be RD, Vol.2 and Dynasty or RD Vol.2 and BP.
It's not strange that a rapper thinks his own material is classic though.

According to MTV

Selected Catalog
*Reasonable Doubt (1996), In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 (1997), *Vol. 2: Hard Knock Life (1998), Streets Is Watching (soundtrack, 1998), Vol. 3: Life and Times of S. Carter (1999), *The Dynasty Roc la Familia (2000), *The Blueprint (2001)

* = undeniable classic

Vol. 1 and Vol. 3 are crimanally slept on albums. Jay had the menacing flow on both those albums. Dynasty had some real classic cuts too.

And even tho it came after BP, The Black Album is a certifed understood classic, hands down

the lengths people go to tear down jay sometimes have me dyin over here

yeah jay brainwashed us with illuminati mind control tactics

I always find it weird that jay's haters spend all this time analyzing his catalogue in depth in order to find minuscule things to pick at
