I have a sony a6500 and I dont know if I made the right decision to get this lens. I have 3 days to take it back. Did I get a all around lens? Or do I need better.

I already have a nifty 50mm which is great.

But i was wondering could I have bought 3 lens for the cost of the 10-18mm

Good glass costs money. If that's a focal range you tend to shoot at then it's fine. It looks like you could have got a 16-70 for roughly the same price though. Different needs dictate different lenses, why exactly did you choose it?

I have a vlogging channel. I need a lens that takes sharp portraits (my 50mm does a great job) but I also need a sharp lens for when I do podcast with my co worker (we need close ups but not too close)

And also a nice all around lens that will bring out the best in ny camera in low light settings as well

I think you would’ve been better off with a 35mm. Since a 6500 is aps-c it’s more like 50mm on your camera (your 50mm is like 70ishmm)
A 16-70 like someone above said would also be a good choice
You could get 2 lenses for like 850-900 but you’d be better off paying for one quality lens still, when it comes to visual art if you can get quality do it.

So I'm essentially good with the 50mm

When I return(I've made my mind up) what lens would hold me down all around
