I think it's in his top 5 with Zodiac, Seven, Fight Club and Social Network

Better than the rest

One of his more underrated movies, it's a fun thriller. Funny enough, Fincher himself doesn't like it much and said his wife tried to talk him out of making it:

"She was extremely vociferous, for instance, when she said, "Don't make The Game" and in hindsight, my wife was right. We didn't figure out the third act, and it was my fault, because I thought if you could just keep your foot on the throttle it would be liberating and funny."

Think he's being a little hard on himself but :hubie:

I was kind of disappointed in the 3rd act. It was a let down honestly

I agree the beginning and middle are better than the third act but it’s still a very good movie. I also think despite the third act having problems, the ending is good. It’s like…the events that get him to the building are questionable but once he gets there…I really like the ending. Trying not to spoil anything.

I like it, haven't watched it in a long time. It was one of the first movies I saw with that big twist at the end being a big factor. Maybe there were others before it (for me, not in movies ever) but I don't remember them.
