Crowd reaction- Little 5 year olds were cracking up on a lot parts. The kids I took are 9, They laughed at some parts but not like the silly kids. As usual as there were some LOL moments but overall the jokes eh.
"I see Black people"- I was surprised at all the minor Black characters in this movie. Particularly, Black women. Some of them were straight up attitude type sistas. While others weren't stereotypes. They did show one scene of Black love which was good.
PAWG alert and women- First time I ever seen a pawg in a kid's film. It was only for 1 second but if you see this movie, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. But overall it's some nice looking women in this movie. I mean it's Miami. Nuff said.
The plot- The Chipmunks are sorta like has beens. So Dave is now writing music for other singers. Particularly for this wannabe Taylor Swift looking chick. Dave is dating this doctor chick and things are looking serious. She got a teenage kid who doesn't like the chipmunks and basically bully these chipmunks (Could that be considered racism since they're brown?) Anyway, the kids suspect that Dave is going to propose to this chick in Miami. So the Chipmunks and the her son, go on the road to stop him from #GMB.
Along the way, they meet the antagonist in this film. He's a U.S. Marshall who hates the Chipmunks because of something that happened in the past. He thinks he more important then he is and takes his job way to seriously. So it becomes a cat and mouse chase. He tries to get them and they're to trying to get to Dave to stop #GMB.
Music- Of course that's the highlight of these movies. The best one is "Uptown Funk" which they did in N.O. It was actually pretty good. They also did "Baby Got Back" which was eh. Other songs I can't even remember. Just some dubstep club type music.
Bottom line: Same old formula. Fart, belch and shaking booty jokes. The movie def. drag along with all the talking. I think it's the worst of all the movies but if you liked the other ones, you'll be able to tolerate it. Plus kids are easy to please with these of movies. I'll give it a C- with barely passing. There was one scene where it may have been gay agenda but I can't say for sure. 2 women holding hands but non gay women do that so I don't know. Nonetheless mad suspect.
