I saw this yesterday, and Emily Robinson and Elsie Fischer showed up after and took questions for like 20 minutes, which was pretty incredible to me, who rarely sees, attends, or participates in those events.
I thought the movie was brilliant, and one of the best of the year, such a year for new era Coming of Age movies, between this and Love Simon. The movie, from the performances (Emily Robinson is just amazing), and of course the star are nothing short of perfect. The score, the directing, the tension and agony of 8th grade and adolescence, is so well portrayed, and social issues about consent and harassment, bullying, social media, all so deftly and wonderfully handled, in a way that doesn't ever feel forced or inauthentic. I think this movie could be a major Oscar contender, and a watershed moment for the genre.
