It's not just women, but men being raped, too. The rape rate in the military is very high, and very few measures are in place to deal with them. Even the few measures there are don't necessarily work well for many reasons.

It seems like the military rape is right in line with civilian rape, so the question should be whats wrong with people period, not military personnel.
Same with suicide and all the other negative statistics thrown at the military. Civilian comparisons either paint the military in a good light or close to equal, which is why they are never done.

Also you can't compare statistics for a lifetime period and an average 5-6 year stint directly.

Best way to really compare the two is to find the percentage of women who are sexually assaulted ANNUALLY in the US and compare that data to military statistics of women that are sexually assaulted in 2012 (6.1% in 2012).

most likely unreported crimes. I aint saying its not a problem, but those percentages dont tell the whole story.
