Its been banned for at least 7 or 8 years. I don't know about before that.
I was talking to a chinese person (hes in America but he is Chinese from China, not Chinese-American hes just here in the US right now) and he matter of factly dropped it in the conversation when me and someone else were talking about Rick & Morty.
