I'm done brehs. I've already transitioned to a low meat diet but after watching that. I'm going vegan.

I knew the meat industry wasn't healthy so i stopped eating fast foods and pork but had a weak spot for baked chicken and steak. But I'm done now.

It all makes sense why I always feel so sick after eating a ton of meat. Fast food used to make me live in bathrooms. You just know there's something tainted about the food. Carcinogens.

Humans were not made to eat meat like that. We are really frugivores, not omnivores. The strongest terrestrial animals on earth are all plant eaters (elephants, rhinos, gorilla's). Although gorillas sometimes eat meat..

I couldn't believe how these organizations created to help diabetes, heart disease and breast cancer are in bed with and sponsered by the very companies that cause said diseases. That blew my mind.

I'm not tryna preach veganism as gospel for the coli, but for me, i cant look at the meat industry the same. I'm done brehs

I encourage EVERY BLACK MAN AND WOMAN to check out this documentary because we are highly affected by heart diseases, diabetes and cancer.

Shout out to @The Message for dropping this vid about the diets of ancient african peoples compared to the "soul food" diet of today.

That doc was WAAYYYYY over the top
I thought so too initially. They had to be exaggerating some of the claims. But after research and hearing doctors take on it, it all checks out. You are more likely to prevent disease and live longer if on an all plant based diet.

Those who consume meat, put themselves at higher risk for cancer and all other related diseases.

I promise you i didnt wanna believe it was this bad cause like i said, I love chicken and turkey. But it's not worth it.

Above the fray.
OP,

You just made what is the equivalent of a new year's resolution. Within 6 months you'll be back to eating meat.

Any lasting lifestyle change has to be slow and done in steps.

Why don't you start by eating healthier cuts of the meat that you like, THEN move into organic versions of those cuts of meat, then to vegetarian versions of those cuts of meat

I already mentioned that I've transitioned to a very low meat diet as it is. Cutting it out completely will not be an issue

I respect the intent of the thread. Our community does suffer from all the ailments you mentioned, and at higher rates than other Americans.

Myself, I own several copies of this book......they are about $2 now....and I give them to family members who start talking about changing their diets.

Book presents information and allows person to make their own decisions about diet. Old book, but highly recommended.

Amazon used to have book previews, but I don't see one for this book now.

Half of me believes the documentary but also half of me believes it was vegan propaganda.

I am 28 right now so if I switch to a plant-based diet will it really stop all of those years of eating meats?

Or is it too late for me?

Once I have the answer to these questions then I will make the switch LOL
