The Jurassic Park franchise has returned in a big way this decade with the sequel trilogy, for which the third and final instalment, Jurassic World: Dominion, is currently filming. As if that was not enough to excite fans, reports have surfaced claiming that a new spinoff series is in development.
Details are scarce but it has been reported that Amblin Entertainment is developing a live-action series with Colin Trevorrow and Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg attached. They will serve as producers alongside Amblin Television co-presidents Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.
Details are scarce, as previously mentioned, and there is currently no information available regarding the focus of the series, its cast or its length. No release date has been announced.
In terms of franchise expansion, Jurassic World certainly appears to be the largest in terms of associated media, with a childrens' cartoon, a short film and web-series all created to expand on the world of the recent films.
As to the current state of Jurassic World: Dominion, production only recently began and the film is currently on track to hit its scheduled release date. Director Trevorrow has been open with regard to the pre-production of the film, frequently posting videos showcasing the various animatronics audiences can expect to see employed in the upcoming film.
