Casting news regarding Jurassic World 2 has been virtually unheard of lately. However this changed today as Variety reported that Toby Jones, Jaden Smith and Rafe Spall would be joining the sequel in undisclosed roles. Variety also reported that these roles were selected in advance of two other apparently integral roles:
"Sources say producers are also getting ready to test for two other key roles in the project but wanted to get these offers out of the way first before making choices."
These two other roles may be the girl known as 'Lucy' in a previously described casting call. This character is a lead character in the new movie, and whose father is also apparently integral to the plot. The other role may be that of a character known as 'Clint' who was described in a casting call, since taken down, as a Systems Architect.
Jurassic World 2 will be released on June 22, 2018. Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt will return to play Claire Dearing and Owen Grady in the film. The movie will be directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, who has directed 'The Impossible.
