Contempt of court? Fine.
300 days? Nope.
Anything more than 90 days? Nope.
Honestly, it should have been 30 days and an increasing fine.

At some point, having her in jail for that long becomes an undue burden to the taxpayer. And that has to be justified, which in this case, it's not.

She was charged with contempt because she was arguing with the judge like she would a cashier who rang something up wrong at the grocery store. Unless the argument is she has some kind of mental deficiency that prevented her from stfu, which I don't see anyone making, she brought it on herself. Doubt she was actually required to serve 300 days but I could be wrong.

Where is she supposed to go if she couldn’t return home? Judge abused his power
I dont know the details of the case but if her bf is a victim or a co-defendant it's not uncommon for stipulations to be given to prevent them from living together.

I never really liked the idea that having attitude with a judge could get you additional punishment. It doesn't really work that way with any other group of people. If someone is being violent or reckless, then contempt in court makes sense, but propping a group of people up as if no one could ever question them will lead to abuse of power.

The only issue is jail time shouldn't be looked at as a punishment.
It's for rehabilitation.

The fact that our system looks at is as punishment, things like this happen.
And judges should not have power to this extent.
Give her contempt and the 30 days.
And dismiss her.

But the system is the system, and she played a stupid game

"Ebony Burks appeared in court accused of domestic violence and assaultWhen she was told she would not be allowed to contact her grandfather - who she lived with - Burks lost her coolThe judge initially gave her 30 days for contempt of court before gradually increasing it as she spoke back to him"

Looks like a boyfriend and her grandfather may have been her victims. The story said she wasnt goijg to be allowed to contact "either" of the victims. Or maybe it was her grandparents. Either way, enjoy the zoo within the zoo if you smacking up grandparents for no reason. And fukk that white supremacist judge casually giving out time like its nothing. All judges are pieces of shyt just to be clear. Democrats,Republicans, they can all eat shyt:respect:
