never really blew my mind outside of the uniqueness of the concept.agree with this
Agree with this

It's a cool concept but the whole field of forwards and backwards things is kinda overblown to Make it more mind-blowing than what it is

If you know anything about Palindromes and how they been used throughout art, poetry. And other devices, poetry types

The whole playing with words and lyrics on the concept of Forwards and backwards is not that "unique"

It's only unique because of how uncommon it is to use it in an art, especially rap.

Song dope but I don't find it out of this world as I use to.
Same with Joyner and this here he did

Nas said it was one of his easiest songs to make.
All he had to do was just tell a event happening but in reverse

I can see why it was his easiest. In concept its cool and should be challenging.

But in actuality to make a song like that it is not really difficult.
One method is to just write a incident occurring from beginning to end and then write lyrics starting from the end on back to the beginning :manny:

Three things:

-One, I believe GZA was the first to rap backwards.

-Two, OP is correct Joyner Lucas forward-reverse songs are better than Nas rewind. Obviously Joyner career is not a microcosm to NAS but Joyner is really good at this.

-Third, Joyner ability to rap like this is why his career overall is a disappointment. He has talent he’s just a disappointment.

I disagree with statement 2. Put that verse that Joyner just did on an album and you’d realize how underwhelming it would be. It’s just bars going in reverse from his previous delivery. All he did was write and memorize two similar freestyles. In an album format it’s even less impressive.

Nas song wasn’t impressive either but it was a complete song with a consistent theme, a simplistic story when compared to many other songs but the theme made it album material.
